Address Change

We haven't moved, and our address has changed.

As many of you know, we've frequently received calls on Friday evening from retreatants who can't find the retreat house. Typically, they have been about 5 miles west of the retreat house near Haeger's Bend road. That's because Navteq and all the services that utilize it -- MapQuest, OnStar, GPS systems, etc -- report our location using a center line system that presumes addresses on County Line Road are ordered sequentially. That presumption is false and, as a result, so was the reported location.

We asked the Village of Barrington Hills to approve a change of our address, and both the Village Administrator and its engineers were very helpful. The Village now officially reports our address as 420 rather than 175 West County Line Road.

Navteq and the services that utilize it report our new address, 420 West County Line Road, very near our actual location. With the passage of time, we hope that the positioning will become even more accurate.
